Q: After the installation, I cannot modify and save my currency and BOM language settings
A: Please refer to the PDF in this answer to rectify the situation

Q: After the automatic upgarade, my Bill of Materials (BOM) is 0kB
A: This ocasinally happens to non-English Windows, please reinstall the program from the official link.

Q: I need to place profiles at an exact distance, drag tool is not sufficient
A: Right now there is no such facility. As a workaround, some people use temporary profiles. For example, if you need certain distance between 2 verticals, create the first vertical profile, attach a temporary horizontal to that profile, type in the desired length of the horizontal. Attach the second vertical to the temporary horizontal. Delete the temporary horizontal profile. We will implement editable size arrows in the near future. This video might also help.

Q: I created a bunch of slot mounted panels, but one rectangular opening is refusing to allow me to mount a slot panel. Any advice?
A: We have seen this and are not sure why this is happening, full investigation is due. Try deleting one of the profiles that form the panel contoutr and creating that profile again. Try adding the panel again. If the fails, feel free to click "Submit for Review" button with a comment related to the issue, We will take a look and investigate.

Q: My panel mounted in the slot shows 1400x800 mm size, but it should go in the slot of the 40x40.43LP profile. How can I correct it?
A: There is no need to correct the size, proper size will be output in the BOM. Panels are not assigned their final size until BOM is generated.

Q: My profile is stuck at a minimum size (45 mm) and I cannot extrude it any further>
A: There are instances when extrude operator detects interference from other objects, these interferences may or may not be valid. To resolve the issue, type the length of the profile greater than the minimum length, like 100mm for example and press 'Enter' key. You can now give the desired size to a profile by using (right-click the profile) "Stretch" tool.

Q: When editing door settings it should be possible to delete the door handle. In my case I am using a latching handle and the door handle is redundant. Need option under handles etc for none?? or omit.
A: Just set the "Quantity" of the unwanted parts to zero. That will eliminate these parts from the door.

Q: If you could have a setting where the regular mouse wheel for zoom could work 180 degrees from how it works. Instead of rolling away to get the object to come closer you could roll the wheel toward you to make the object come toward you.
A: Please use "mouse wheel fwd = zoom in" check box, found in File->Settings->Display tab.

Q: I have noticed that when I insert extrusion I can reference dimensions from the existing extrusion, but I cant seem to modify or set it outside of just dragging it around. Is this my only option at this time, or again, have I missed something?
A: Right now there is no such facility. As a workaround, some people use temporary profiles. For example, if you need certain distance between 2 verticals, create the first vertical profile, attach a temporary horizontal to that profile, type in the desired length of the horizontal. Attach the second vertical to the temporary horizontal. Delete the temporary horizontal profile. We will implement editable size arrows in the near future.

Q: Some profiles in my design seem unreachable, I cannot attach anything to them and they report funny status in "PROPERTIES" window
A: "This is likely related to your scene "floor" being too small. To correct the issue: open File menu, select Settings... then Display tab. In Surface group increase sizeX and zizeY to 2000 cm (20x20 meters). After the "floor" is increased in size, select all of your extrusions and move them a little bit. The program will recreate all the connectors."

Q: "When do you think the following articles will be available: 1.64.2**** 1.64.2x0*** These are Mountingblocks and distance plates. With these items you can place a mounted panel.
A: We are targeting these and other panel mounting options for Feb-March 2014. Our primary task is to cover all the extrusions first and panel mounting is right next to it in the schedule.

Q: Is there a way to print the actual view on the screen ? Without the grid of course :-)
A: Not at the moment, we thought that BOM images are enough. This is added as a low priority task.

Q: I place a profile Than a covercap And than I insert a T-nut in the groove. I move the nut towards the end of the profile against the covercap. I duplicated the three parts a couple of times One time I forgot to select the covercap. A new covercap can not be placed anymore since the T-nut seems to block it. After removing the T-nut, I could place a covercap again.
A: We currently detect all intersections. Only Profile->Accessory intersections are ignored. We will add more intelligence to the interfering object detection in early 2014.

Q: Whenever adding a caster such as 1.45.31100 to a 40x40 or other extrusion, the cut code for that extrusion should change to reflect AL0 indicating a tapping charge. In addition, an insert should be selectable such as 1.35.1140815. This is the only manner by which the swivel caster can be attached. Other request to follow as it relates to modifying the BOM to reflect the needed cut code.
A: This will be resolved in the next 4.4.99.6 release

Q: Can we do miter cuts with 2 pces of extrusion?
A: The answer is this video.

Q: Edit BOM feature. When I edit the BOM I can output it to a PDF, but there is no way to save the modified BOM
A: Please watch the video here. It has the answer to saving/loading custom BOM..

Q: Any plans for adding a Sliding door to the software? This design needs a sliding door. I am going to export to Pro-E and finish off there but would be nice if you add that.
A: Sliding doors should be available as a wizard item by Feb. 2014. However, the sliding profiles will be added prior to that and we will release a video on how to create a sliding door quickly.

Q: The Slot Covers if you could have us pick the slot cover we want (color and style) then add to the assembly would be a big time saving compared to putting it all on then changing each piece.
A: We will try and squeeze that in the next release, completely agree that current interface is not friendly.

Q: End caps we rarely need on both ends so if you could have it default to one end and a box to check for both that would help. Now I have to delete the caps from the bottom of this design.
A: We plan to change end cap placement algorithm by Jan. 2014.

Q: Are we able to do parallel connectors at this point? Or change out Universal connectors for standard?.
A: No parallel connectors at this point, planned for March-April 2014. Cnange from Universal to Standard is available now via "Edit Connector" tool. Click on the tool button, click on the connector you want to change and the list of available connectors will appear above the connection..

Q: Are we able to import models of accessories that we have created? There are times when we need to make stuff using external parts from McMaster Carr or other product lines we carry in a design. I have not found a way to import models and assemble them into a design. It would be nice if you could.
A: There is no import feature at this time. We have a few ideas how to make it work, but these will have to be discussed with MayTec. Currently only MayTec parts are available and not even all of them are in the inteface yet.

Q: Any chance you can have the software work with a 3DConnexion mouse?
A: 2 mice were purchased for the developers and after evaluation of 3Dconnexion SDK, we estimate that this effort will take 22 days. Given other priorities, our guess is that such support will not be released until the summer of 2014.

Q: Measuring tool is really necessary, when do you expect to add one?
A: We plan to have the measurement tool available by the end of Q1 2014, there is an ongoing discusion about the best way to make it user-friendly. If you have ideas, please send us an e-mail to one of the addresses below.
